The City Of Manchester, The revolution will be televised.

Re: The City Of Manchester, The revoloution will be televised.

Other clubs can't reduce ticket prices because they can't afford to. They spend every penny they have (and more in a lot of cases) to get the best players they possibly can. With city it's different - we have vast amounts of money at our disposal so revenue from ticket sales is negligable. But what it worth infinitely more to ADUG is the image of the club - in fact it's priceless. I'm not saying our owners are idiots and will let everyone is for a quid every week out of the goodness of their hearts to retain our working class roots. But they want the best possible image of the club and part of that is having full stadiums each week so i think there is every chance they will reduce prices considerably in the future.
hope so anyway - my seasoncard f*cking crippled me last month!!!!!

To finish the quote -

The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live

Re: The City Of Manchester, The revoloution will be televised.

some fair points, I dont go because of the distance, that said taking the eldest to a game this autumn, probably Burnley as a birthday present.

And another thing, 50,000 my arse, there were at least 60,000 at the charlton game.

Re: The City Of Manchester, The revoloution will be televised.

Deffo around 60,000 at the Charlton game. There must have been 40,000 in the Kippax alone.

Oh the good old days of Peter Swales and cheating the attendances!

In the future I would like to see a 60k 65k stadium with the away fans in the corner, and a bigger and better family area with entertainment and a few little freebies for the kids.
Obviously a Bigger and Better singing section to roar the lads on.

Abso-fucking-lutely! When the Commonwealth Games was on we should have made that end where there were 3 mini-stands into one giant City end! It would have been immense! We missed out big time there but we have a chance in the future because i know for a fact that demend for seeing City, not by new fans, but by the old ones coming back, will force the club to make the stadium bigger and it needs to be done properly this time!
Yes if only ADUG were around in 2002 - off topic I know, but I wish we could have had the glass spirals instead of these horrible concrete ones which were rushed through when they ran out of money.

Re: The City Of Manchester, The revoloution will be televised.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes! I am far from perfect.

Revolution is what we are seeing because we are breaking the mold that has existed for the last 20 years of Super Power European Clubs.
Manchester City the ugly duckling of football has turned into a swan and people are taking notice now we are ruffling our feathers.

Yes many of you were right, that Charlton game was at least 60,000 blues. Many of them had children and i believe are out there watching the blues on the box.

When was the last time you saw a group of 20 lads under the age of 15 at the match??? When i was a kid there was 20 of us from Failsworth School alone and we met lads from Newton Heath, Droylsden,Moston at the front of the kippax and sat on the wall. The kippax was hammered with kids and its something that is slowly coming back.

The fans are out there and i told these facts to John wardle and Alistair Mac at a fans meeting once and they looked at me lke i was mad. I knew then they did not have a clue about this great club.

Viva The Revolution

It will be televised 24 hours on skysports.

Great thread 5knuckleshuffle. If ADUG were testing the water with the Hamburg game last season, there'll be many Blues hoping they'll push on this coming season with similar, regular offers in the FA and League cups, if not the Premier League.

NEED TO LOWER THE PRICES OF BEER & FOOD AT THE GROUND AS IT IS A COMLETE RIP OFF

Don't buy it then, its not difficult.

I don't buy anything from the club other than my tickets, I haven't for about 5 years, and I won't until the prices reflect reality. The only way they will lower prices is if people stop paying them, and that goes for tickets too, the only problem, is that you can't see a game without a ticket, but you can see a game without buying an overpriced pie or pint.
