First visit tonight to see Einaudi.
Well the Guinness is now gone up 5p to £9 a pint!
Really impressed with the venue overall like most people I think. What I would say though was for this gig being on the side was great, but it did make me think if I had a seat up there for Carl Cox/The Prodigy I’d feel like I was watching someone else’s party, and be desperate to be down on the floor standing area. The rake on those sides is a tad steep to be up jumping around.
Einaudi was mustard tonight. At times I could close my eyes and think it was all sorts of things: late era Talk Talk/Hollis, or it was the music of Adele, or it was Wakeman mid-Awaken, or it was the soundtrack from some movie or tv series that’s yet to be made.
What I also thought was the gig ought to have been full of every aspiring electronic music producer in the north of England cos the music he makes is absolutely teeming with ideas and inspirations.
It’s a cliche to post this after talking about him, and I should have picked summat else, but what the hell.
