Chatting to a lad who has worked on the COOP, he said they were only alllowed to use certain brackets to hold up ducting, however, they were on back order so didn’t have enough, so they missed sections out hoping to put the extras in when they got them, maybe they didn’t arrive!

No acts should have been booked or advertised until the place had been completed and thoroughly tested.

Some of the people who have shelled out large sums of money on travel, hotels and tickets should get together and sue the fuck out of whoever is responsible.

Pity Barry Manilow wasn't one of the first acts, saw him in Vegas some years back and he was utter tripe then.

It doesn’t work like that. You can’t just build a venue and then book artists, especially at arena level where events of this scale and booked at least a year ahead.

I say this as someone who’s worked in the events industry for many years.

It’s risky and they should have allowed more contingency time for inevitable delays but you can’t complete the building then have it stood empty.
