CITC might have been dry because of the time. 20.35 back is always carnage with cans. How many carriages were there? Don't see value with £60 return.
Nothing to do with time, simply "football special" = dry train for British Transport Police
Irony is that other trains up to Manchester from Euston on Tuesday were not dry so only supporters using official Club train were penalised
Not sure what protocols + flexibility BTP have here, maybe City + Virgin can do some lobbying for future trains + didn't want to push too hard for first trip
Carriage set up was close to normal for Virgin (maybe one less standard class)
Peoffrey: you have made the point before that you don't think £60 return is a good deal.
When there is no other way of getting back to London same night by train + people are faced with o/night hotels + missing work etc, I think you are missing the point big time
This was not really a normal football "special" + most punters were similar to the sort that would turn up in hospitality / Joe's / 93.20 etc + a few regular season-ticket holders
The club is not attempting to compete with group discounts + pricing achieved by MCFC supporters London Branch for regular games
Not sure take-up was sufficiently high to justify further charters, but if Club is forward looking (+ we qualify for next year's CL) they should announce similar arrangements for all group stage games to get a proper idea of what real demand is
