The Conservative Party

You're just being silly now. Actually you were being silly before.

I was a Remainer, I voted Remain and I campaigned on here passionately for the referendum to be re-run so we could get a remain victory. It just became obvious that in the end, that wasn't going to happen and mates persuaded me (I think correctly, in hindsight) that the Brexit vote was democratic and had to be respected. I've never been a fan of Boris - in fact I think he's a berk. But I do accept that he got things done, and I think he was extremely unlucky with COVID biting him in the arse not long into government. And the outrage over Partygate was rank hypocrisy by all concerned since half the fucking country broke the rules, including Labour MPs.

He didn't even get Brexit done - he got a WA which works for everyone except the DUP and the ERG so he and his chief negotiator and the new PM want to tear it all up and start again. We haven't got any border checks in place so goods come into the UK unchecked whereas our exports are in a queue and take ages to leave.
Must be your half of the country as I don't know anybody here nor amongst friends and family who broke any of the rules.

Nonsense. Since the fixed term parliament act, there's no possibility of an early general election unless (a) Labour get a 2/3rds majority for one (no chance) or (b) the government fails a no confidence vote. It is not going to vote for no confidence in itself! And neither are Tory MPs going to vote for a GE that they would certainly lose right now. So you are stuck with the Tories until January 2025.

Of course should the world be in a better place before then, and a Tory victory look likely, then they could call one and conceivably Labour would support it... and go on to lose again. So that aint happening either.
Maybe you’re right, maybe I am, quite often I’m not but going off your track record of being wrong ,I’m in with a chance.

My occupational pension had better be safe. It's still not been sorted out. They are all scousers and I've already imagined going "postal."

Really? I must have missed or forgotten that. Thanks.

It's all still true though. The opposition don't have enough votes to win a no-confidence vote and there's no way Tory MPs are going to vote for a Labour government are they. So anyone on here imagining they will have less than 2+ years more of Tory rule, well, they are politically naive dreamers.
Depends on whether you believe every single Tory MP is a selfish wanker who puts themselves before everything else or not. I actually think many are genuine in their beliefs of making things better and their actual job is to represent their constituents.
If they genuinely believe the country is going over the abyss, enough of them might support a motion of no confidence, given that otherwise they’d be admitting they supported the current state of affairs. Unlikely and improbable I’ll grant you but certainly not impossible.

So let me get this right. If the Bank of England had not of stepped in today I could of lost all the money in my private pensions totaling nearly £30K?

Should I be worried for the future?
According to the Pensions thread ...no

Industrial scale gaslighting taking place and not one UK media channel is calling it out.
