The Conservative Party

I'll just leave this here for the working class Tories to read.
yet it's the people on the liberal side who have so vociferously pushed individual liberty over social and biological norms, collective constructs, proven human social structures and values? Conservatives only "endorse" it to be seen to be popular and on message and to make money out of the ideologists gullibility and it's been hugely successful.

Daddy Rees Mogg`s extreme libertarianism?

Biological norms? What on earth do you mean?

that traditional concept of what a man and woman was. We've moved away from that and it's a liberal push to do so. Conservatives just monetise it. Same with women's rights, it's just additional labour, consumerism, debt, anti-depressants the list goes on. Makes people very rich at the expense of those whose ideology pushed for the rights in the first place.

Hence, when responding to Mat, my point was it's liberal ideals that open these rights and pursue these ideals, then Conservatives go with it when it'll make them money. The reason Conservatives talk about individualism is every new right, demographic or cause the left creates, another marketing opportunity is presented and likewise it creates a counter opportunity in their traditional base. One huge gravy train.

Indeed.

Environment issues are now bring monitised. I'm convinced the ekectric battery factory is the start of another future tax scheme.

Interesting article that has a ring of truth.

Agree with a lot in that article. The question will be whether the conservatives choose the right time to replace Johnson so they can continue to hold power. They’ve managed to do it for the past decade and reinvent themselves, each cabinet distancing itself enough from the last for a lot of the electorate to deem that to be enough to vote them in again.

That and how much damage will be done before there is another change. It’s going to take a long time to wind back even the less newsworthy and obvious changes they’ve done to undermine our normal processes.

So what you actually mean is social norms?

If these Liberals stop pushing for these liberties, do we see the end of capitalist exploitation? Or are you blaming capitalist exploitation on those who have been exploited, that's a bit like blaming a girl if she is raped.

Social norms change over time, it was a social norm in Ancient Rome to take male and female lovers, it was a social norm under feudalism for the Lord of the manor to treat his subjects as minions. 50 years ago it was a social norm that women stayed at home and men went to work, it is a social norm now that all people are expected to work (unless you are rich)

Biological norms, Liberals like to push their agenda on inclusivity of otherwise no specific norms on to others whose idea's of norms differ to there own, how that makes them ripe for capitalist exploitation is debatable i suppose but is it provable because capitalist exploitation would occur anyway, as that is how capitalism works, it is exploitative by nature and i see it more as a social issue than an economic issue, but its an interesting point you make and one well worth consideration.

Thankfully as a Socialist I am of the mind to push for the collective rights rather than individual freedoms, because if one person is free at the expanse of all the others then it is not freedom, it is libertarian selfishness.
