No .... the Short Term Fix is to allow applications for asylum to be made at consulates or embassies abroad (like the civilised world does) instead of only allowing applications once they reach our shores or arrive in our waters (thus forcing them into the hands of the people smugglers)

The longer term fix is to work to remove the conditions that create refugees.

LOL ..... Ex ambassador to Afghanistan on BBC Breakfast saying that there are 5.5 million families in Afghanistan who are ''food insecure'' and it is a serious situation.

Without pointing out that there are more than that in the UK (the 5th richest country in the world)

I like the logic of recalling parliament to debate for one day's session on Wednesday by which time Afghanistan will already have a new flag and national anthem.

With the online facilities why can they not just host it remotely for any MPs overseas or not able to get to Westminster by Monday or Tuesday?

Perhaps we should put the Taliban in charge of infrastructure and development, as they don't fuck about I'm sure they would get HS2 sorted in no time at all. Added bonus of Camel and Honda motorbike storage on the trains.
