The Conservative Party

I bet you and most others on here never actually cared that much about the whole non-Dom issue until the 24 hours.
Now we have a bunch of experts
There are probably hundreds of dodges and loopholes I don’t care about because I don’t know about them. If ,like this one I become aware of it and find out the spouses of government ministers are using them , then I’ll care. I certainly won’t try and justify their actions as most won’t.

Not whilst doing my shopping at Asda, no.

I thought I made that clear, unlike your argument for telling them why their prices were too low.

So you only care if it is a spouse of a government minister?
That’s odd

Was the outrage when Jimmy Carr or Gary Lineker did similar?

Do they still get taunted about it daily?

I still want to know what the nonsense you were spouting about Asda prices was about.

No, and it wasn’t what anyone has said. The fact is we are talking about the wife of the chancellor and probably by extension the chancellor himself profiting by exploiting a loophole.
I expect politicians and their spouses to live by the spirit and intention of the rules not exploit a loophole for personal gain. Maybe that makes me the odd one, but I doubt it, I find it odd anyone would try to say thats okay.

Its very much not ok.
But in no way surprising.

Do you think non-dom status is an entitlement? You have to apply - its a conscious effort to gain the status. You do that if you want to "manage" your tax affairs so you only pay what you have to at the lowest rate possible.
There seems to be an obfuscation between non-domicile and citizenship, when neither are the question.

The question should be ‘Do they live, full-time in the UK’? If the answer is yes then the answer is quite clear.
