The Conservative Party

Tricky one.
However he has already said that he will no longer state his opinions publicly and with his 70 year apprenticeship for the job he will probably manage that.
On his first visit to NI, he already said something that I don’t think Queen Elizabeth would have said.
When introduced to Michelle O’Neill with Geoffrey Donaldson next to her he said something to the effect of……
Ah Michelle isn’t it, I believe you’re the largest party in Stormont now.

Geoffrey’s face was a picture.

But you could never imagine the Queen saying anything political with picture and sound turned on and it such a high profile event.

There is little doubt to me that within a short time, the Conservative Party will politicise the passing of the Queen by positioning themselves as the party of the monarchists and will make out that a vote for anyone else would be a step towards a republic. After the last three years of government ministers always appearing with a picture of the Queen behind them along with a Union Jack it's not a difficult prediction to make.
Against that though, there are videos of the appalling truss woman decrying the monarchy and calling for its abolition, and of course, decrying brexit as well.
These could be put to good use.

Another legacy from Mrs Thatcher. An interesting article on the different approaches between UK and Norway regarding oil and gas reserves.

We are still paying for her decision to privatise £1bn of BNOC assets in 1980.
Norway took a different approach and most tellingly, nationalised significant oil production which earned them significant revenues on top of the taxation revenues.
Meanwhile they have accrued an oil fund of $1.3 trillion.

Its not just now that Tories are lining the pockets of the big multinationals, they have been doing it for decades.

My Mrs has a theory that Truss is the fallgirl. She clearly has little support amongst MPs and the public except Tory members. The Tories are set to lose the next election, so why have someone who may just have a brain cell fighting a lost cause? Let her do her worst till the next election and then she will be gone.

As I keep f@cking telling everyone.

I think that's exactly what she is, and the last line is exactly what this bunch of chancers are there for. Vandalism and leave Labour to take the blame.

Ah, but if the monarchy is threatened by one party claiming to be royalist (and the climate change denying party too) isn't that an existential threat to the neutrality of the Crown?
