The Conservative Party

I just can’t see the party that had Priti Patel in the home office a month ago is going to start trumpeting the benefits of immigration.
i know, it's a bit through the looking glass, but they're already making noises that they want to relax regulations. can't remember where i read it, but definitely did.

anyway, liverpool are shit. at least we've had some good news today

Britain should prepare for new age of austerity, warns Simon Clarke

Simon Clarke, the levelling up minister and a key Liz Truss ally, has told the Times that the market chaos that followed the government’s tax cutting mini-budget would pass and warned that Britain should prepare for a new age of austerity.

He also said the prime minister was “enjoying having the chance” to enact policies that “she believes is right”.

Despite the turmoil in financial markets, Clarke said that Truss was “astonishingly resilient” and urged the government to channel the spirit of Margaret Thatcher to push ahead with their vision.

The 38-year-old said:

Clarke added that for too long western countries have lived in a “fool’s paradise” and there would be cuts to government spending to ensure “full alignment with a lower-tax economy”.

Clarke said:

He is my MP. Truss probably promoted him so she could have someone around her that she can think of as intellectually subordinate to her

I don't think the government is being unfair,I think if you work hard you should reap the rewards
Could you please define ‘work hard’? I know lots of people who have ‘worked hard’ all their lives and not been ‘rewarded’ like you speak of. Does a banker who ‘works hard’ worth the gazillions he gets paid? Any more that a train driver or road worker? You don’t make any sense.

If you cant work you get shit on ?

We all have a choice when it come to the job we do , if you want to earn more money then learn a skill that pays well . ie train drivers

I found I worked hard at the start but frankly out of 42 years of working I was working less hard after 10 and positively coasting for the last 15 - a period in which brought me promotion and higher rewards - so I did alright out of the hard work I put in between 1979 and 1989 ?

Sunday Times scoop:

’Kwasi Kwarteng went to private champagne reception hours after delivering budget where hedge fund managers egged him on to commit to his plans. Investors who gained from plummeting £ told him: double down.’

This is not going to end well.
