The Conservative Party

The reality of the situation is this. Thanks to the withdrawal act, voted in by parliament we leave in the 29th March with a deal or no deal.

Parliament has little time left if they want to change that fact.

That period can be extended though, allowing for a GE or second referendum.

Would you rather May's Brexit or a second referendum?

She will resign and there will be no GE.

Tories are stupid but not that fucking stupid ;-)
So what happens then if the ERG push through a vote of no confidence with the opposition and don't get their own person in?

Remain.

Mays deal is a sell out and a second ref unworkable and won’t be taken seriously by anyone after the way the first one has been handled.

I hate it when you play what if with me ;-)

I’m a Labour voting HGV driver ffs.

They won’t, it’s a threat to push her into resigning which she will have to do when she loses the meaningful vote by well over 200 votes.

Government lose by 200 votes mate, you'll end up with a GE.

Government lose by 200 votes mate, you'll end up with a GE.

We won’t I can promise you that.

Fixed parliament act tells you we won’t and she will resign allowing the party to have a new leader.

Only a vote of no confidence in the govt lost can end up triggering a GE.

What do you think Corbyn will do the second the government lose by 200 votes? He'll skip the no confidence vote and try to call an election.

He won’t win it as the DUP will vote with the government and not one Tory MP will rebel.

Not too sure how he can just call a GE either mate?

They'll have to rebel if they want to be taken seriously in being against May. Can't see her resigning at this stage.

Edit: 2/3rds vote to call it straight off or majority vote + 14 days through no confidence. The ERG will be left with the choice of facing a GE or crawling back with their tails between their legs.

Speaks volumes of that party that they were willing to reinstate the whip for Andrew Griffiths and Charlie Elphicke, just to bolster support for May.

What are sexual abuse allegations when political power is at stake?

They simply don’t have the numbers without the DUP mate.

If they turn then fine you will get a GE but not until.
