I don't have an issue with it - my cat is chipped. There are more stray and feral cats than pets - who do they fine for those not being chipped/ Who will pay for the procedure at £30 a go? Have you ever tried to catch a cat that doesn't want to be caught? Its sometime hard enough to get your own pet.

You are missing the obvious - Davie apologises to Lineker - outrage and pink gammon faces everywhere - Govt MP's and ministers egg on their faces so pull out the first idea you get and launch it as a "policy" as a distraction. Like the immigration bill its not ever intended to be an actual usable proper law

That is the top and bottom of just some people can't see it - tomorrow will be all budget - Thursday or Friday it will be about they want to ban petrol mowers in ULEZ zones or how Junior Doctors are evil cunts to want to earn more than a barrista in Pret when the lack of massive tax cuts gets attacked

The BBC made it very clear *before* his tweets about the additional responsibility to show neutrality amongst its most high profile contributors, of which he is surely one.

Easy , make sure there are safe routes to apply for asylum. Its not rocket science. Give asylum seekers a ferry ticket, meet them at Dover process and sorted. The smugglers will have no one to smuggle

It's all well and good opposing the tory plans, but that means a status quo of traffickers, exploitation and drownings. That's what I find unacceptable.

It is imperative we oppose a plan/bill that is illegal in itself, immoral in its ideals and deeply damaging to the UKs status as a fair country.

Yes, we should have a fair and accessible refugee/asylum policy, and that's what we should be discussing

. The idea that trafficking is OK because we don't have the former, is just plain stupid. We need a decent above-board system, not an illegal, below board one.

And there it is. The solution in all its ‘complexity’. it didn’t take long to set up a legal path for the Ukrainians. This government could stop the people trafficking and drowning tomorrow.
