According to Census 2021, the usual resident population of Blackpool is approximately 141,100. This is a decrease of 0.7% since the last census in 2011, whilst the overall population of England increased by 6.6% and the North West region increased by 5.2%.

It's despicable that they continue to peddle this 100's of millions lie. All it does is tap into the fear of the xenophobes and the racists, but then that's their modus operandi.

And there it is. The solution in all its ‘complexity’. it didn’t take long to set up a legal path for the Ukrainians. This government could stop the people trafficking and drowning tomorrow.

This is why terms like callous or inhumane don't really do justice to what is happening. It's not just ignoring the plight of others, the refusal to do anything sensible is exacerbating and exploiting it for electoral purposes.

They have taken things well beyond the realms of normal party politics and are dragging our country into the gutter with them. Imo, irrespective of party loyalties, anyone who truly cares one jot about Britain and it's place in the world should want shot of this abhorrent government tomorrow.

He didn’t compare us as a country to 1930s Germany. He compared the language of the Home Secretary to the language coming out of Germany in the 1930s. Which part of demonising a vulnerable minority or referring to them as an invasion or a swarm makes it different enough to say that the language comparison is wrong?

Well I am not Jewish, but I believe a lot of Jews were pretty upset by the language, so yes, I'd say it was ill-judged to make any sort of comparison to such a dreadful regime and dreadful period in our history.

No, Rascal's "solution" only works if no-one is ever refused asylum, in which case why even bother just say come on in folks. If you have a process and criteria to be met then by definition some people will not be accepted, and so the trafficking issue does not go away. It would be massively reduced though, I grant you that.

I don’t agree with the underlying premise of every cartoon, but, for the sake of discussion, why not raise taxation?
