The Conservative Party

Why would they want to speed up the processing of applications, if according to many sources I find in the media, 80% of the asylum seekers have a valid claim and would get the refugee status. There is a critical mass of population in England specifically that do not want immigrants and asylum seekers no matter what!
That critical mass is in large part made up of people who are "unproductive" and whose pensions (i.e. benefits) would be unaffordable without the taxes of immigrant workers.

Yes. Racists. My friend has regularly been on shifts in her ward where all the the nurses are African, and suffered appalling racism from patients.

This isn't a multicultural place like London etc.

But that doesn't mean we should take such racism seriously (One complaint is they want to be treated by white people).

You go around the racists. You let them think you take their concerns seriously and then you do the right thing anyway.

The effect in 1836 was to get the vote for people who didn't own land.
Don’t get me started on Penal Laws and Catholic Emancipation.

There’s a reason Ireland looks like it does.
Thankfully I think most in this country look to the future and have no longing for the past.

Why would they want to speed up the processing of applications,

errr........................... because the current slower rate of processing has resulted in the huge backlog - its really easy to understand. If you are counting marbles to put into a box at a rate that means the pile of uncounted marbles behind you grows ever higher does your employer

a/ take steps to speed up the counting and increase the productivity of filled up boxes
b/ rent a warehouse at extra costs to house the backlog. And when that one is full rent another. And when thats full.....

I am pretty sure you can work it out

You inadvertently leave your keys in the front door when you arrive home if you are distracted when entering. You can inadvertently put petrol into a diesel car by using the wrong pump. You can't inadvertently forget where some of your wifes income is derived from and what investments she has when there is a cross over between that and policy you are drawing up. Sunaks inactions are not compatible with the image of financial whizz kid and someone capable of running a G7 country they appear deliberate and shady. At some point he opens himself up to a direct challenge from within his Party who he knows don't like him and looking wider beyond politics when he is voted out at the GE will his local Party want him as candidate - will Sunak want to remain in Politics and will he have come across as something of a bumbling idiot damage future employment prospects?

In a recent interview, a Conservative spokesperson said that they were processing the at ‘speed’.

Not sure what they meant by it but must not know how to get it out of reverse.

They need to stop some or these overseas visa schemes.

Some of these jobs should go to local people.

We have over a million unemployed, nearly a million on benefits. Get them trained and they can fill some of these vacancies.

We don't need loads more people coming in.

Its mot fair on the hotels that these immigrants are taking up spaces

I think you will find the hotel owners are more than happy - not reliant on bookings and footfall - a block booking all paid up for say months. Just sit back and count the cash - I'd suspect that the way this Govt does contracts it matters not if they emptied the hotels this weekend we would still be paying for the full contracted period regardless of what happens
