but my point was that isn't the case, the EU isn't totally different and neither is the left. Jezzer et al are still exactly where Benn left them, it's just those outside the leadership hub that need to be educated.

As a Leave supporter I find it astonishing you hold this view of the EU being the same. Literally every overall argument Leave has made involves the EU not being what is was originally set up to be.

This 'we joined a golf club and it changed to a tennis club' lament is a fiction. The Franco German axis had one aim from the start, to promote their national economic interests above everybody else.

Franco-German axis, that's something when neither country can find national majority consensus on what they want from the EU, judging by their spread of MEPs across parties in the EUP.
