The Conservative Party

Of course the minimum wages should go up with inflation as most peoples wages have and should, nothing to do with tax though, thats just a spokescreen, which for many has gone up as the government refuse to increase thresholds with inflation.
Actually for the example of someone on minimum wage doing 40 hours a week, the cut in NI almost exactly offsets the lack of indexation, so for the lower paid the NI cut does have some purpose.

Does anyone seriously think that a Labour government is going to significantly increase income tax thresholds though?

I don't know maybe when we see maifestos we'll see.Not diverting to that though we are talking about what this government has done to thresholds for 3 years now and apparently another 3 going forward. Add all those 'tax rises' up and the most vulnerable are being taxed more and will be taxed more. Those are government policies .Will Labour change that policy of taxing the worst off more I hope so,whether they do or don't doesn't excuse what's being done by this government..

Is that the “if you’re offered work after 18 months you must take it” idea?
they are going to force sick and disabled people into work or they cut you off and if you cant work you will be left to starve . This gov has form for the assessments and targets to find people fit for work when they are not , it is back to cruel tories, no doubt you wont agree as you are a tory

Electoral spending increased by statutory instrument yesterday.
An 80% increase (it's not been increased for 20+ years), but no party has ever reached the previous limit - Conservatives were about 15% below it, Labour 30% below.

Electoral Commission hadn't seen any evidence to support it, and say that it'll just help the biggest parties.

It was a damp squib in term of mini budgets what’s of more concern is that public services which are on their knees are still facing massive spending cuts, further exacerbating the broken Britain feeling, the sooner this lot gets drummed out of power the better their slash and burn economics have wrecked this great country

What's next? Bring back the workhouse?

Good old Victorian values

Where's today's Charles Dickens or Charlotte Dickens when we need him/her?

She was a fucking idiot. Anyone with ears and a brain can see it was a cheeky sly dig at Labour rather than blaming them.

Brown was a fucking idiot for saying he had abolished boom and bust at the time. The global crisis didn’t scupper anything, it was always a ridiculous claim. Anyone who believed it is an idiot and doesn’t understand economics.
We'll never know, will we? Somehow I think Gordon Brown knows more about global capitalism than you.

It's quite pathetic if capitalism survives despite an inevitable boom and bust cycle.

And growth under Labour 1997-2010 was twice what it has been since the capitalist party took "control" in 2010.
