If we need them to do work I don’t get what the fuss is, the illegal ones can fuck off, but it seems the majority are here to work or study, what exactly are they studying, is it of benefit to us then crack on. Apparently there are about 100,000 jobs alone in the NHS to fill, so let’s get them filled.

Labour are unable to put a number on it as they don‘t hold the keys to the workforce plan. Tories are also unable to as they haven’t got a workforce plan, nor have they got an industrial plan, and that’s where the problems start, leaving business to sponsor what they need which allows for a workforce system that is not far short of slave labour.Seriously, why would you even try and put a number on it? It’s true there’s not that many Eastern Europeans coming here for work, they have been replaced by workers from South America and Asia, we need a grown up debate about this issue and joined up thinking from government, I won’t hold my breath waiting for it

But we also cant have tens of thousands popping over on boats , slinging passports over the side as they do.
Thats surely equally crazy.
Reading this and the dublin riots thread spells out that the biggest issue in this country and ireland is housing, and lack of it. And introducing 700,000 a year to scrap over those houses doesnt help
