Yeah, with UKIP and the DUP.
I'm wondering how you can work out the percentages of the last election or the one before for that matter under a system that doesn't exist.

We can all make predictions. If we had PR this lot wouldn't have even got in, that's the biggest selling point you could ever get.

Wouldn't most keen proponents of PR say that STV is a very, very weak form of PR?Good point.
He's wrong anyway. A Tory led coalition government wouldn't have been able to command an absolute majority even with the deals.
How the 2019 election results could have looked with proportional representation
Ever wondered how the 2019 General Election result would have come out with a form of proportional representation? The Single Transferable Vote (STV) is a form of proportional representawww.electoral-reform.org.uk
It’s all guesswork as the vote would be different, whichever system was used.Wouldn't most keen proponents of PR say that STV is a very, very weak form of PR?
I agree that we really don't know.I'm wondering how you can work out the percentages of the last election or the one before for that matter under a system that doesn't exist.
True - and one of the more reassuring polls I've seen recently, suggested that whereas Brexit voters wanted a Tory govt, Reform voters definitely don't. Making a Labour govt more likely. It’s all guesswork as the vote would be different, whichever system was used.

Ah, I was going on about 2019, but either way, as people would have voted differently, hung parliaments that couldn’t get anything through would be the likely result of both elections.Mine was based on the fact that the Tories would never get near a majority on their own in 2017 and their only likely partners ukip/dup got Jack shit votes.
