It's typical of their approach to the economy and society. Plenty of time wasted with vouchers not being delivered or crap service provided by outsourcing providers. How hard would it have been to develop an electronic solution to the problem? The big supermarkets already have food gift card schemes and parent/student cards where you can restrict the type of products that can be purchased (i.e. no fags or booze). Would have been relatively simple to develop a food voucher using this existing technology in cooperation with the supermarkets. If they couldn't get it to work across several chains, they could have just asked the family to nominate their provider. Once they have the card it could be topped up automatically each week.

I don’t like Boris as a leader and am on record saying Starmer is the best person to lead the country currently.
