The Conservative Party

Confirmation they lied and held parties while the rest of us had to follow the rules. The worst thing now is they might fight it in court but every day everyone else had to pay the fine.
Imagine if they take it to court he should just resign.
If he takes it to court and loses he will then have a criminal record
Liz Truss it is then!
Don't say that, where's my passport

It’s an outrageous idea that our prime minister could attempt to hide behind and use the law- the law which he has no problem breaking- to defend himself, creating almost a state of siege in downing st.
He would be using law to protect himself from us- we the people, those who elected him and all simply to save his own miserable lying skin.
Worst of all- if he won’t resign, then it would fall to the gutless, spineless nodding dogs in his party to do the right thing on our behalf.
Breath not being held.

"Hard-working people across our country are seeing their lives brought to a standstill by selfish, fanatical and frankly dangerous so-called activists.
"Keir Starmer's Labour Party repeatedly voted against our proposals that would have given the police extra powers to deal with this eco mob. The police have my full backing in doing everything necessary to address this public nuisance."
Little Miss Jackboot, Home Secretary, Daily Mail.

It's misleading tosh of course, as the police can arrest people blocking roads already. No, it's all the Labour Party's fault that people are complaining about failure of the govt to put green policies into place.
Demonise the protesters to distract the people away from their protest.

Tory play book from the past few decades.

Public sector workers
Teachers pensions
Poll tax

yeah the timing is very suspect , they had his questionare weeks ago

If there was any collusion surely the details of who was issued fines would just have stayed quiet or they’d not have fined him.

I’d think the ongoing press for a month before next PMQ will do more damage than PMQ tomorrow anyway - even if it drops off the front pages in a week it will be back as soon as PMQ resumes. He won’t resign I can’t see - but I suspect he will be ousted at some point, Ukraine probably buys him some time but maybe it doesn’t; the tories need to register their disgust and leaving him in post doesn’t do that. There won’t be an early election (because the tories will want to show they are still capable of governing with morality). If I was Starmer I’d probably want him to stay given the liability he is - but for those same reasons the tories will look to remove him before an election in 2024 and give the new incumbent time to put clear water between themselves and Johnson’s leadership.

What a mess.

The state of our governing party: green cards, non-doms, the Wakefield MP, Elphick’s wife, David Warburton MP, lying to parliament, breaking the laws they created etc. And yet I’ve this awful feeling 30% plus would still vote for them. Rancid government for a rancid country?

Yeah, but Ukraine is being invaded. Have some perspective…

Morally bankrupt man struggles to understand the implications and seriousness of the situation…. I’d bet a few quid when he does finally get pressed on 5his he will deny any wrongdoing!

Ukraine has nothing to do with the Prime Minister of our country imposing laws on the electorate then breaking the law then go on to lie about breaking the law, it is you who needs to get some perspective

Absolute zero chance of him resigning over this , as you say morally bankrupt as are his supporters. But don’t forget they are the party of law and order .

And they have managed to create clear legal precedent that there’s one law for us and another for them….

in any organisation - if you were the boss and you set rules and then you broke them - you’d have to resign… but somehow in government that moral code does not apply!
