Don't forget £2,500 a month for doing nothing for 18 months.
Tory MP in shock attempt to obfuscate. Non-Dom was created by Pitt the younger to keep the Brits establishing the colonies happy - it meant they didn’t have to pay British taxes on their colonial earnings. Keep them sweet, build the empire. It is a relic and another reason our tax system is a mess and hopelessly unequal. Poorer people have a higher burden as a percentage of their income. It’s mental that some high net worth individuals only have to pay 11% tax rate. Not through any dodgy tax avoidance, but simply where they get their money from.Tory MP on the radio yesterday said the non-dom idea was set up as it allowed rich foreigners to come here and create employment and wealth in the UK. - How does that apply to Mrs Sunak? How does she create wealth and employment? Or does she just benefit from a loophole created for others?
It’s as though certain elements of this Government believe the laws of the land don’t apply to them , obviously I must be mistaken .Tory MP Imran Khan convicted of sexual assault of a boy.
Tory MP Crispin Blunt defends him and says it's a miscarriage of justice. He's the former Justice Minister.

For accuracy: He wasn't Justice Minister.
He was an Under-Secretary of State in the Justice dept - the third and lowest tier of minister (Secretary of State, Minister of State, Under-Secretary of State).
What he said is just bizarre for any MP - he doesn't seem to have put forward a reason for his statement, and undermining judges is never a good look.
He is however head of the Foreign Affairs Committee who could have a bunch of resignations in protest at what he's said.

Does he claim for his wig though?Just Tories being Tories
In other news Im happy to have woken up this morning to the news that Michael Fabricant has spent £1200 buying a new iPhone and promptly claimed for it on his expenses. (other cheaper models are available)
No I think he was referred to as Boris even then. Even at 17 he had a face that you wanted to punch.Never a bad day to repeat that.
It's just occurred to me that either this has had the name changed for ease of recognition, or he was 'Boris' even back then.

Its the line 'I think he honestly believes......' that resonates so strongly.
