The Conservative Party

Sorry mate but do you think its ever going to happen?

Tory MP's bringing down a Tory government so that Corbyn and McDonnell can run the country?

Give over!

Something will break the cycle.

I think there is a consensus in Parliament to force May to bring her deal to the house and to vote it down. That will happen or if she refuses then yes I see the ERG siding with all other parties to bring forward a no confidence vote.

So I think it more likely that she puts forward her plan it gets voted down. At the same time a motion for a second ref gets supported (not by the ERG or DUP but enough tory rebels and labour / all other parties). She either accepts it and does it or resigns. If she resigns than we are in a mess and at that point a Unity government could be formed avoiding the need to go through a Conservative party leadsership contest. Someone would nee dto front it up and I suspect it would be a moderate conservative working with all other parties. Formed with one objective - delay / withdraw A50, set up second ref or GE and then disband. Either way we would have a GE before the end of 2019. Then there would be fireworks...

Be 100% honest for a start and stick by the promises id made before and during the ref and at the subsequent GE.

His failure to do that might not stop him bringing the govt down and getting a GE but i will bet it will stop him gaining power as he will lose it to the worst govt i think anyone has ever seen.

17.4 Million leave voters will not touch him with a bargepole and please dont say it doesn't matter, it does.

Without votes and without the win at a GE he might as well be a shoe salesman because a politician without those two things is not a politician.

Bit harsh on shoe salesmen although the jezza sandal range could be a goer

Can we then consider that as she has a disregard for 'democracy' (whatever that means at the time) that everyone else can disregard 'democracy' (whatever they want it to mean)?

That will make things easier.
No, democracy has spoken and to respect it's will, we should never ask it anything again.

I cant help but like and admire JRM.

I can imagine an afternoon talking hedge funds over a pint or two of best bitter would be enormous fun.
He is like a caricature of what you might expect a former public schoolboy to be like who was brought up in an affluent Surrey village, and who has never been anywhere near where poor people live but has seen one or two documentaries, made in the 1950s, about these dreadful places.
