The Conservative Party

Hancock looked his usual a rabbit in the headlights when Burley asked him about Patel.

He’s a scared weasel.

He does seem to get some of the bad days to do the rounds of the media in the morning.

Patel and NHS pay freeze exemptions - neither of which would/could he answer.
His waffle about Patel always being polite to him ignores the fact that bullying at work is normally in the department not unrelated departments.

He did but if he’s not seen her bullying anyone then it’s hard to confirm. I was more fucked off with
A) his refusal to say that if she or anyone had been bullying them they should be sacked as there’s no place for it
And
B) his utter failure to say that the pay freeze on the public sector is a disgrace if MP’s are about to get a rise.
No fair enough he may, and I say may loosely, not know if MP’s are getting a rise or not, but if they do whilst no one else does then that’s a fucking joke.

They're a bit wank aren't they.
The fact that they are in power at all is a pretty sad indictment of where the UK is politically right now.
I mean, if this shower is the best we can elect then something somewhere has gone seriously wrong.

Alex Allan (PM's adviser on the ministerial code) has resigned - guess he's not happy about the Patel whitewash.

Its gone full White House in number 10 now.........she broke the code - no she didn't - well she did and I quit - ok off you trot..................

You have to wonder what he's after and what his motivation is. I'm assuming he's content with the report itself as he authored it. It then must be that BJ's action is not what he wants. Most organisations have procedures to deal with bullying and harassment (worth noting only one of those is actually illegal), and If it's not clear that Patel has committed some gross misconduct worthy of dismissal then I'd say it's down to her management (the PM) to decide what if any sanction or reprimand is appropriate. Unlike everyone else it seems I haven't seen the report so it's difficult to see what is / isn't right in this respect.

I'd guess he gave Johnson the report that Johnson then sat on for months and then decided to disregard. Allen has a long and illustrious career behind him and he has seen his view completely disregarded so has decided to publicly distance himself from Johnsons decision and resign. Its called honour and integrity but given the year this government has had you can be excused for failing to recognise it - even Mayday sacked the witch for breaking the code.

It may indeed be to do with honour and integrity, or may be just political manoeuvring. I'll personally reserve judgement until I know the facts. It seems to me very like the calls for Corbyn to be further punished - driven by hatred and vengeance rather than justice and reform. Excuse me for not joining in with the mob in either case.

They've awarded themselves £3600 increase this year ...

What would a nearly 70 year old civil servant with his career be gaining in the way of political manoeuvring?
