Not entirely sure what is being re-written. I can see that there are uncomfortable events in Britains past may be being highlighted but thats not re-writing. For example Colston was involved in the slave trade. Highlighting that is not re-writing history. The culture war will simply backfire on the Govt if they try and stifle free speech in the name of free speech

It is when these very universities are attacking free speech and promoting authoritarianism.

The universities are going to be fined if they don’t allow both sides of the debate to have their say.

That is progress and it’s a bloody good job the government is finally standing for something that really matters.

Patel bemoaning the cost of a damaged building over the migrants waiting to be allowed to settle should have been pulled up by the so-called free media in this country with pressure to resign. Condemning the damage at Napier as “deeply offensive to the taxpayers of this country” is a play to nationalists and far-right, along with people who have been ostracised by conservative forced austerity who feel the genuine loss and words like that will play and fire up their perceived anger. Surely seeing what Trump did to the USA should be our warning call that people won't heed until it's too late.
