The Conservative Party

Lord Sumption, former Supreme Court judge, not happy with the idea that the court can say the facts about Rwanda mean it is not safe, and Parliament could pass a law that says the facts are not facts. Where have we heard before of "alternative facts"?

It's not just that they don't like European courts. They don't like law.

Maybe Cameron will resign in principle.

He will when realises what Sunak meant by fucking Hamas....

More polling out today, looks like the PeoplePolling result was not an outlier after all. The Tories are heading sub 20%:

YouGov:

And Savanta with a poll of voting intention among Muslims:

Do you have a poll of ginger haired people wearing a green pullover on a rainy Wednesday to give the polls some kind of perspective?

Interesting they seem to have lost 2% to Reform

This is why the Cameron move is so strange to me. They really are too late to win back over any more moderate right wing folk before the next election. But that paired with the Suella fiasco is going to drive a chunk of their fringe over to Reform. Kind of a worst of both worlds, purely from a political strategy point of view. It’s the kind of move that they could have made after losing the election as a kind of “relaunch” of their reputation.

Average of last three national polls:
Labour 46.3%
Tories 19.7%

That is like a Liberal party extinction level event if it actually happened.

There is something deeply Orwellian about a law that asserts what is factual. And a very dangerous path to go down.

I don't recognise any of the rags PL championships............. there they never happened and I feel much better with those facts at my fingertips
