The cool cats

Tbf Bill Gardner, another stalwart of the ICF said in his book that a visit to Maine Road was one of the toughest tests that they faced. Particularly pre 1989 . Before the Guvnors were locked up.
Right, not read his account mate. Cass didn't mention much about City, just that Maine Road could be a dodgy place to visit for some teams.

There’s no such thing as a “good firm”.

They’re thugs who ruin it for everyone else. Their sub-culture our families off going to football for a generation.

It was just the way it was back then, not condoning it or slagging it off. Fighting, getting chased/jumped was part and parcel of going to a game back then. Lads firmed up so you had some back up if you got attacked bit sure some revelled in it. Tougher sentences, police infiltration, all seated stadiums, CCTV and banning orders put paid to it. The game is better for it, aside from a few moron's it is consigned to history now.

I don’t disagree, it’s just the words “good firm” or if anyone glorifies it I start to disagree.
