It was just the way it was back then, not condoning it or slagging it off. Fighting, getting chased/jumped was part and parcel of going to a game back then. Lads firmed up so you had some back up if you got attacked bit sure some revelled in it. Tougher sentences, police infiltration, all seated stadiums, CCTV and banning orders put paid to it. The game is better for it, aside from a few moron's it is consigned to history now.
