The culture of BM, this sub forum in particular...

For whom it may Concern:

All the knobs who have said in the past that we shouldnt have paid so much for Bridgey and Bellamy should have a look at what they were replacing i.e. Michael Ball who (no disrespect) isnt 'the best'. We have improved and bcas added better players to actually have a good foundation to add better players to, but not the superstars that only play in the CL. We will get into the CL if we sign properly and not go mental on another superstar.

To all those who say were ruining football and all the rest of the palaver.... The rags have been doing it for seasons, as have the scousers, and even Real Madrid have pulled it out the bag today with Kaka. City will evolve into a force they want to play for, and not have the Merc's coming for a quick buck (except Robi, but we all love him ;-)

The transfer forum used to be a nice place with Ajay and the rest giving us proper goss, now its all newbies and friggin plastics.... im off to bloody bed. CTID

gold fever ; irrational expectations, delusions of self-worth, obsession with rivals, paranoia,
cure ; a gradual weaning off message boards ,forums etc
result; they all live happily ever after
tmq is too modest, 'bit of a nob' ,no way . Massive maybe? :-) good post

Give this post a sticky imo, people coming on here and saying RSC and the like are not good enough for city is nothing short of a disgrace.

A disgrace?

FFS, if people don't want RSC to come they have every right to that opinion. Never know, time may tell that was a pretty good opinion to have.

I think his comment was more to do with the fact that until we have any kind of success then who are we to think we can pick and choose who plays for us? We finished 10th in the league, most players need more than an extra 10k on top of their 100k wages to consider making what is, in all reality, a step down.

Is it me or are the vast majority of posters on here these days incredibly ungrateful bastards with their heads in the clouds?

We sign Gareth Barry, out of nowhere, a player who ticks all the boxes of what we need in midfield, 2 years back this would have been cause for celebration but these days it's met with 'he's alright, not as good as Messi though, he'll do as a squad player if we must I suppose' as we all eagerly wait for a new thread to appear started by a liar who will claim we're going to sign some mega superstar the likes of which we've never seen.

Whoever Hughes signs will dissapoint 90% of people who frequent this place. Unless we sign a thoroughbred, glamorous, celebrity, world star our fans no longer want to know.

If Hughes can't sell mid table trophy less City to Eto or Kaka then the problem is obviously him and not our standing in English/Euro/World football.

We've got Ireland, for me a true star, yet we'd much rather wank over someone we've never heard of outside of computer games as they've got a cool single name and will cost 50m at least.

I foresee a pre season of bitching and moaning as Hughes signs players who can do a job and are happy to sign for a club like us. I don't think an extra 10k a week will sell many players on the idea of MCFC, if you earn 100k a week then why would it?

I'm not advocating a loss of ambition of hope but I do think a lot of you need a reality check where transfers are concerned.

If Tevez doesn't sign for us, I don't think he will, I expect a mass uproar and outrage on here as all perspective is lost once again and we blame Hughes and/or Cooke for not being able to lure him here.

Me, I'm grateful for what we have, this time last year we had very little to be excited about, we now have Robinho, Ireland, SWP, De Jong etc all looking to raise us to the next level. It's a slow process, I expect us to challenge for top 6 this season, no higher, and I'm quite happy with that.

Ok so a lot of you lot felt that Dabo and Corradi were enough to raise Pearce's blues to top 6 but that just shows that a lot of people are deluded.

Excellent post TMQ. Probably the post of the day.

Like all good literature it trips a switch of epipahny (CF James Joyce Dubliners)...

I've just realised why I've got to drop this obsessed shit .. say night night to the cockerney plastics who can't keep their insecurities to them selves, and to fellow blues who are just getting spoilt and boring.

Nos da i chi gyd.

Wake me up when we've actually signed someone.

Hwyl !

A comment that often shows the arrogance of some City fans to me is when you say it is unlikely Messi, Gerrard, Eto'o etc would come to us they say back "well robinho did". He would have gone anywhere within reason to get away from Madrid.

When we were skint we as supporters had every right to an opinion over who was, and wasn't good enough for us.

Why should it be any different now.
