The Cure night BBC2

They are so good live. I've seen them twice, albeit 20 years ago but they was immense.
Only saw them once at Manchester Apollo in 1980 and I thought they were terrible. Robert Smith just mumbled his way through the set and the rest of the band played their instruments like cardboard cut outs, very underwhelming. That said they're a good band who have stood the test of time well.

Joy Division in my humble opinion were the best band of all time. It was short for obvious reasons. A Forest is beautiful but Smith and the band had and have no idea how to dress Just my view that's all. The music is great but they put me off with the eye liner in 1980.
I like the Cure but Smith looks daft with the goth comb-over, or whatever he's trying to do with the hair he has left. Just shave it off and be like Leonard Cohen and all zen like, lol. It's like they're trapped in this time frame, even last night on BBC6 was filmed black and white. I never checked but was he wearing unlaced high top white trainers.

That's what ruined it for me with Uncle Bernard when he started wearing white adidas shoes. Mind you I bet Hook wears cowboy boots, naked, in private.
