the daily fail stoops to a new low

Pretty much the same story is running in the Mirror and other outlets — though each subtly rewritten to suit the bias and agenda of the individual news organisations and their particular editors.
For example, the Daily Mail went with the church bells angle. They wanted to show us in the worst possible light, portraying us as arrogant, demanding and spoilt.
Yet prominent in the Mirror's version of the same story is the fact that the players are woken at 6.30am each day — before the bells would start to ring even on a normal day.
The Daily Mail curiously chose not to mention this fact — presumably because it didn't fit their preconceived agenda of trying to portray our players as prima donnas.
As for the rest? City make a huge financial investment in the health and performance of some of the best players in the world. And then choose to protect that very investment though sound diet and sleeping arrangements. In other words, a complete non-story.

Actually a very good point, I read the daily mirror version too, and it does indeed point out that they are woken up at 6.30am before the bells.

I'd be pissed off by bloody big bells going off every hour if I was trying to chill out too, although I don't believe they go on the hour each day.

mail, lawro, hansen=tossers!

I don't blame the Daily Mail for being protective of Austria. It was the heart of the Third Reich. Berchtesgaden where Austria's most famous son so was well-pampered was mere miles from the Austrian border. Nor do I blame the Daily Mail. for defending the honour of a church - churches also being so well respected by Austria's most famous son for being a part of his power base. Of course it was the Catholic Centre Party which made the deal which gave Austria's favourite son the Enabling Act.

A City fan who reads the 'Daily Mail'... It's like finding out Michael Palin is a fan of 'Mein Kampf'. Or that John Terry isn't.
