Amazing how gamers see it one way and fans see it another.

There are very strong rumours (by people close to the club) that the only money involved in this partnership went City's way not the other way around. With EA gettingsome advertising etc and even branded gamestations for pre-match games for City fans to play etc.

They'll be more of these deals with other clubs and no doubt and when Arsenal get DLC i'm sure you'll be moaning and whinging about that....

Remember, nothing has changed in your retail copy... Emirates still in there and faces all things City didn't have last year.... the minute we get something similar... its all about money.

How would they get more from those teams you listed? (Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arse) EA cant offer them anything as those teams have their stadiums and faces in the game already...

Like i say, the minute we get something the others have had for years... Everyone cries...

Right now City want all the exposure they can get this is another way of getting it.

Also how does this upset EA's buyers'? I've been buying this shit for years with Old Trafford etc in the game, and Shrek on the cover...

It's a different kind of hate. United fans are like somebody you hate at work because he's an arrogant cock with no redeeming features as a person, whereas Liverpool fans are more like political extremists that you hate because every aspect of the doctrine they believe in is offensive to you. Liverpool fans can sometimes show aspects of the first too, but it's just a bit embarrassing and you feel uncomfortable for them when they do, being vicariously arrogant over things that were half a lifetime ago, so it doesn't make you angry so much as make you cringe.

Hate is probably a strong word but I think it's pretty clear we're not talking life/death levels of hate. I hate macaroni and cheese too.

I don't like Man City buying their way in to fifa12. Why should 1 team have extra features and special attention.

I predict the man city deal will be incredibly divisive. I know people who won't buy the game if too much love is shown to one team.


That they only put forth this effort due to Man City's wallet is embarrassing imo.

Authenticity is their main selling point and the two champions league finalists have less recogniseable players in their squads than Man City. That there is a problem.

Just like I never bought Sharp products and chose O2 over Vodafone.

Your telling me, City get nothing, nada, zero? Apart from some advertising, most of which was in there anyway as the team is licensed anyway.

No my friend, theres always reasons behind deals and theres always money to be made one way or another.

And why Man City? Manchester City are relatively new to the circle of so called big boys, if you want to call it that. You'd get so much more from a deal with Barca, Real, man U, Inter, Liverpool for example.

Something doesnt add up, and EA need to watch they dont upset their buyers.

And if it comes out that City get a small slice of profits from this to benefit the fair play rules, consumers and fans of other clubs will not be happy. It wouldnt surprise me if they didn't announce the full details of the deal if this was the case as rival clubs fans will be putting profit into one club.

What does the deal actually entail? Other then some faces and a stadium and maybe a clubshop boxcover? Tbh I think it's all just marketing with both parties using each other for extra exposure.
And how much profit do you think EA earn from a FIFA release? It won't be a huge amount, and will be pennies compared to what City spend each week on wages.

Fifa Games = Large worldwide fanbase (a brand)
Man City = Team in desperate desire to be international recognised

Put the two together and hey presto. EA probably make a large sum of money from the deal and Man City get the publicity and attention that they crave.

Didn't the press release say that there will be simulations of real world matches? By which I understood that Man City matches / highlights would be available to view via the FIFA engine? Or did I completely misinterpret that?

Should work, seeing as FIFA replays are sh!te and City are boring as ....

Just stick to the Match of the Day Liverpool love fest then!

the "decisive" thing isnt that City are on FIFA12, but PES2011 has lost its way and even if Shrek was still on the cover, i'm gonna still start play FIFA12 from now on cos PES has lost its unique gameplay.

They weren't whinging when they were on PES2009, PES2010. then Spurs got 4th and replaced them on PES2011, they just upset now that they realise they cant rely on their "history" anymore.
