The Eddie McGoldrick paradox

Slightly off topic but my best memory of him is loaning him to Stockport and him being allowed to play against us at Maine Road. Both he and Eric Nixon had shockers for stockport and we won 4-1 with county fans convinced they had both thrown the game. Not helped by City fans singing "Nixon is a city fan " and him giving us the thumbs up !

Not sure many of these named are the high profile the OP was on about.

George Weah is probably the one, when lisiting ex city strikers I tend to forget about his 7 game stint

Ok guys, I'm asking you to remember the most high profile city player you'd completely wiped from memory.

For me it was Eddie Mcgoldrick. I was reading about Coppells time in charge when his name popped up, and it was a proper head wobbler. I'd completely wiped him from memory.

I remember at the time thinking anyone who was good enough for Arsenal would be more than decent for us.

Sadly, it didn't work out well for either party.

Who's your Eddie Mcgoldrick?

Just decide to look his stats up 39 appearances, played one season yet we carried on paying him for 2 more to play in our reserves and a loan spell at stockport
