I don't think that is true. I'm told that drivers have an agreement to work Sundays now. Roughly £500 a shift, depending on how many hours they need them for obviously, and they have more than enough volunteers to cover any work. It's the guard's they cant get to work Sunday's and haven't an agreement with.I'd put it slightly different. They settled the last round of strikes by giving them more money but they did not address Sunday working. Now the drivers have enough money they don't do the overtime on a Sunday, they don't need to.
Sunday working should have been integrated as part of the settlement, it wasn't and the result is a shite service.
