The end of the Conservative Party?

No. It will lose the next GE but then collapse back into its coffin before reappearing in 5-10 years with a fresh thirst. Electoral reform is the stake/silver bullet if you want to keep your blood.
Depending on the next week, I can see them having no option but to accept a General Election and unless Labour shoot themselves in both feet, it will be an electoral massacre from which they might never (hopefully) recover.
Then we could see a significant rise in the Green Party as environmental issues come more to the fore, especially with younger members of the electorate

It feels like we are in a one party state. Few people care about the country it’s all about the poor old Tory Party…. Who engineered this mess?

Even if they go with Truss and the foreknowledge of electoral defeat, there will still be many in England, especially in the shires, who will continue to vote Conservative. They will do so because many still think that Johnson will be reincarnated and that his second coming will yet lead them to the sunlit uplands.

Electoral reform would splinter the Conservatives into pieces, but Labour fears the exact same would happen to them, so they’ll win but preserve the status quo and all that entails.

You could have made the same argument about the Labour Party before the last election.

Incompetent and unpleasant leadership imposed upon the MPs by the more radical elements of the membership, accusations of bullying against the more centrist MPs, repeatedly appointing cretins to key (shadow) ministerial positions and a general sense of decline.

A long list of parallels to what the Tories are experiencing at the moment, and I’m not sure are many obvious reasons as to why the Conservative Party can’t recover over time following a hefty election defeat, as per Labour’s trajectory over the past couple of years.

No it won't be.
I don't believe the alternatives will be that much better. I think all the parties we have are crap hence why I don't vote.
