The temple of convenience...top juke box.

Went in there the other Sunday and Guy Garvey was at the bar on his own absolutely fucking leathered. Top bloke though. Phoned our mate in Glasgow who's seriously ill and left him a voicemail wishing him well. Really top fella.

He's always in there mate - the guys a fookin soak. I used to practice at the same studios as him, and he was always after shuffling off to the Temple of Conveneince every night straight from practice. I can't remember a time I've been in there when he wasn't sat at the bar, absolutely shitfaced. Top bloke though, like you say.

Ah yes,the Christmas Market is upon us once again!

Early start for Hull... then a wander through the brick-a-brack of our continental friends, sampling their delights?

No worries, I'll see you in Long Legs.

He's a changed man, this time of the year he likes to take a large German sausage in his mouth....allez kla.

Sorry mate - probably made it sound more interesting than it is. Just usual band stuff - my band had a room at the same place as Elbow, where they recorded their last couple of albums I think. He was usually knocking about the pool tables there, or in the communal areas, and was always up for a natter. I'm afraid its nothing more interesting than that, much as it pains me to say it

I don't believe you. It's Reni isn't it. When are the Roses getting back together?

I know you jest Dave but listen to this. My missus is from Swansea, and I met her when she was living with her older sister in Salford. Her older sister had graduated from Mcr Met. and bought a house near The Cliff. Well, their circle of friends involved what would probably be classed as United's 'firm' (their best mates boyfriends basically) and I introduced them both to my mates after a while (City and local). From that basis of mates, they are always staggered that no matter what gig they go to, no matter what pub they go to and no matter what club they go to, they will always know someone there.

I take it for granted but it amazes them to this day that Manchester is so 'small'.
