This fucking thread...cracking, lads. Amazing that lots of the lads you get on with on this forum...well, Manchester is'nt that big, is it?

I know you jest Dave but listen to this. My missus is from Swansea, and I met her when she was living with her older sister in Salford. Her older sister had graduated from Mcr Met. and bought a house near The Cliff. Well, their circle of friends involved what would probably be classed as United's 'firm' (their best mates boyfriends basically) and I introduced them both to my mates after a while (City and local). From that basis of mates, they are always staggered that no matter what gig they go to, no matter what pub they go to and no matter what club they go to, they will always know someone there.

I take it for granted but it amazes them to this day that Manchester is so 'small'.

Take your point completely M27.

These days I'm not on any scene, I'm married with kids. I don't even live in Manchester any more.

But you get these odd events that I've ventured to over the last few years, say New Order gigs, ACR gigs, Factory retro events, and you see the same faces you saw 20 years ago at the Hac or Konspiricy or gigs. Older, balder, fatter, greyer, but still the same faces.

And it's the same at City. There's blokes I see at COMS now with kids in tow eating burgers and buying merchandise. 25 years ago they were prowling the streets wearing Lacoste with our firm.

And there's still that nod, that look of recognition from all those years ago.

Sorry to digress slightly, m27, but the other day you mentioned Steve foster and all his rag 'crowd'. Molly's a blue though isn't he?

There's nowt to say to that. What a great post.

I always get the impression that, like me, you have quite a few United mates who are partial to a bit of unruly behaviour. There's nothing better than catching a mate's eye on derby day, nod and a wink, and as you were....funny as fuck!

Pass mate, sorry. I've seen that lot together but know no more. PM though because I might just be being thick.
