If that's the case, then why not during the negotiations?

It's a bit late now, isn't it?

I have a sneaky feeling that Mancini likes to create an atmosphere of chaos to get the best out of his players, a siege mentality. He did it brilliantly back end of last season, even the Tevez scenario worked to his benefit in the end.

A bit Mourinho-ish like?

Surely it's better for him to have signed a new 5 year deal before he starts kicking up a fuss, if the owners got that pissed off they wanted to get rid then he is quids in.

But the power he had while negotiating his 5 year deal has now gone. He can't "threaten" the club over Marwood now, whereas while he held the power prior to the contract signing, he could have imposed his own demands.

I'm sure he can now kick off... but the club can just ignore him now if they choose. The club can righly point out that he "agreed" to these arrangements when he signed the new contract.

I suspect this is all smoke and mirrors. If not, then Mancini really shouldn't have extended his contract if he so fundamentally disagreed with Marwood being responsible for deals. I think Mancini is just winding up a fellow employee and pressurising the board to move things on... which I'm sure will happen over the next couple of weeks.

Oh dear. Just calm down and have a little think now... You do not threaten your bosses who are as powerful as HRH and chair Khaldoon. Mancini is extremely intelligent and would never threaten cos that's just childish and immature. Mancini has the best deal in the prem, better than whiskey nose... Says a lot. He has always had a problem with Marwood and he knows the way to "deal" with Marwood wether its to remove him or shift the whole power to Mancini, is to let Marwood fook up, put the club at risk and make him the limelight of that fook up.

Mancini did this last year with Ageuro and it's happening again now. With bobbys press conference it was now public Marwood is putting mcfc's future at risk. I'm sure Khaldoon will be here soon and Marwood once again looking bad. I think Mancini is using the very intelligent way to shift power and get 1-2 big players.

Mancini is simply putting more presure on Marwood to get deals done. It's always an easy excuse for Marwood to say they were asking too much for the player we were in for. There is much presure to comply with FFP but Mancini is balancing that presure out. Mancini thinks Marwood needs to improve, just like everyone else at the football club.

You've been reading too many Bourne novels mate.

Mancini making Marwood look bad is a strategy? Why go through all that shit when you have a chance to clear him out while negotiating your new contract?

Doesn't make sense. Maybe the owners actually support what Marwood is doing?

Heaven forbid...

Not read a single 1 yet lol! But will consider it to pass the time away till we sign someone! I think Mancini is playing it right in the long run. Our owners are shrewd and intelligent an they want a sporting director involved in transfers, Mancini wants some more power and involement in this and I can see this pan out where Mr. Nike Marwood will be replaced next year. Marwood is good in business and hence why he is there still, but for future when the right candidate has been spotted ... Marwoods gone!

I would like to invite tolmie into this thread, I'd love to know his thoughts on proceedings.

I know some posters are not the biggest of tolmie fans but I think he is genuine and would like his take on it.

If he does post then please contribute without any negative shit.

Mancini quitting over 'transfer policy'.
Injuries mounting.
Players not fit enough for start of season.
Fall out between management.
Can't get rid of 'dead wood'.
Disruptive players still being retained.
Lack of adequate cover at CB.
1st Team yet to play together.
Crap first team shirt design.

AND,MOST IMPORTANT - slow Beer dispensing and crap pies on stadium walkways not resolved.

PANIC MR.MAINWARING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
