The wrong type of people are making money and they will do everything they can to keep the poor poor and the rich rich. Just saw a clip of some billionaire hedge funder blowing a fuse on TV. How can you get that upset over money when you already have billions in the bank? It's pure, disgusting greed and those fuckers need taking down a peg.

They’re shitting themselves because there are thousands of small time private investors (for the GameStop shares) holding.. I certainly know a little more today about the whole shorts scenario than I did.. my two lads and I are totally small time in terms of the shares we have but it would be nice to double our stake

I said I feared that would be fuck wittery around on the platforms. Bent as fuck and a disgrace.

Should be prison time for some of these scumbags, they won't mind i guess compared to losing everything.

The USA has established a pretty clear trend of fining big business orders of magnitude less than they earn from criminal activity.

Citadel, Robin Hood etc. they are all just doing the maths. No one goes to prison, so it's just a case of do we lose $XBn through manipulating the brokers + a fine in 5 years time, or $YBn by coughing up for the squeeze.

Feels like they are doing this so blatantly, with bipartisan support (AOC, Don Jr. and Ted Cruz all on the same side??!!) that they are painting a massive target on their backs for a brand new administration that wants to show corruption won't go unpunished.

Probably massive wishful thinking though.

I've learned so much about stock market this week, I never really knew about this shorting method and essentially betting against a company but it makes sense.

Just watched something where somebody said they'll be no winners which is not entirely true, some small investors have definitely 'won'. I actually think it's a method where the bigger hedge-funds lose more, as there are smaller entities who are willing to keep their shares even if they're losing.

Gotta love /WSB although apologies as it’s offensive and I can’t get the spoiler function to work.

Haha that sums up what is going on perfectly, it's at the point where it's now about making a point, making a stand and to some the cost of making that point is irrelevant

Add in what the trading platforms have done especially Robin Hood and they have just basically galvanised it, this WSB movement isn't giving up any time soon

Well the corruption in Wall Street was laid bare for everyone to see yesterday, in fact it was blatant and criminal, and in reality some people should end up serving jail time, but nothing will happen

It also highlighted how the likes of CNBC, Bloomberg, Yahoo, the online brokers etc are all in it together with the big boys on Wall Street and that they will do anything to protect the status quo at the expense of us the retail investers

As someone said earlier the fines are easier to take than the losses and that's what will happen down the line

The movie will be a good watch though

It's been fascinating to watch. I'm tempted to get involved myself, but by the time I've learned how to do it, everyone will be losing money again no doubt.

Watch the film The Big Short, it shows the type of crooks that are trying to force the price down.

For all the less experienced involved in gme.

I have been involved in internet share trading since the last century, so have a little knowledge.

For those hoping to sell when the merry go round stops, the following is highly likely to happen-- the app/ site you are using will crash or become unresponsive.
Secondly, in a selling frenzy, your order to sell at limit WILL NOT be executed, as there will be people with automated software, many times faster than you can even think, let alone enter an order into an app.
