The game is off

I'm glad it was called off for reasons stated. My wife thinks I'm mad as I've travelled from Seascale for a postponed game only to go back to work in the morning (5am leave), which is about a 270m round trip in that weather.
I'm not bothered personally, that's part of being a football fan but I can see peoples point, in that maybe the game could have been called off when sections of the M6 & M62 were shut, Thelwall viaduct & Barton bridge were being closed etc.
At least I get a night in my own bed ;)

I do not have a problem with the game being called off but as usual fuck the fans attitude well to the fore. Why not call it off sooner they maybe had seen the weather forecast. Having forced myself to go and over 3hrs of driving and 40mins of walking to get back home in absolute shite weather I was not over impressed at being told it was off approaching the get in gate. No doubt I too could have seen all the pluses for us if I had been sat in front of the tele or at the pub.

Anyone an idea of what happens with tickets? I assume they're refunded rather than valid for the rearranged fixture?

Still not got home yet, sitting on a stationery train nearly 2hrs is fun

Hope you get home safe mate
cheers, hope to be home by midnight :)

I've got the same decision to make on Saturday, I either take a hit financially (pre-paid travel and tickets) or turn in to a tit and try to get to the game?

7 hours in the car coming down and return from Newcastle 62 was a mare came of junction 25 driving thru Huddersfield when game called of Happy Days

Left Doncaster with three other blues at 5.30, got as far as woodhead passing two overturned vehicles on the way, Heard it was called off and returned via Holme Moss and holmefirth. Coming down the other side of the hill was a bit hairy with wind and snow, passed two trees in the road. Got home about 8.45.
It was a good call judging by the pictures on the BBC news website of our programme booths all over the place. Plus our players will be well rested for the Chelsea game.

Respect to all those blues who travel silly distances to get to matches. Incredible effort. You are the biggest tits and maddest bastards of us all.

23.45 near Stockport on a train heading to Manchester for tonights game hope they have put the KO back for me as I am a true fan, left home at 9.0 this morning.
On reflection you may have a point there "Skashion"

What a bloody farce. I suppose it was stupid of me to travel up for the game but the journey from Oxon wasn't bad. However, when I got out of the car at Our Kid's near Middlewich, I thought oh shit; a feeling exacerbated when A few minutes later I drove back down the lane he lives on to find it blocked by a conifer. Fortunately said barrier was not too heavy for me to move. A couple of diversions for downed trees later and not many miles covered, the game was called off. Wouldn't have got to the ground in time, despite having over two hours to cover the final 20 odd miles of the journey.

Thankfully, the trip back down the motrways was quick and uneventful. Did feel for the poor devils stuck in a 10 mile jam going north.

Quite how the game was not postponed much earlier is beyond me; almost as ridiculous as me setting off in the first place.
