Whilst gutted for the fans that have travelled. Selfishly I'm glad, as I'll be able to make the rescheduled match.

Blue Mickeys game just gone as well. Feel for the Palace fans, they must be in Liverpool at this stage.
Most will probably be in the ground tbf mate.
Fair point actually. I temporarily lost the few remaining marbles I had, and thought it was just after 6, not 7. Don't ever get old!

Had to dodge 3 trees and a police road closure from Oldham.

Managed a chippy tea in the car on Riverside Rd, game called off and now back home safe sound and dry.

The game gives us a 'easy 3 points' in the bag so no pressure of being on the top of the Prem, chance to get players fit, chance fie a bit of rest and to be fresh for Chelsea.

Remember when Elleray called it off against Ipswich when we were winning?
Fuck, there is an agenda! ;-)
I do! I was there that day, my mate had travelled up from London to watch it. Didn't the ball stop dead in a puddle and Vonk nip in to score with his feet for probably first and last time in his career?
Me too. It was a big fucking puddle. Think we were one up and he called it just before half time.
t 2-0

Was it no 2-0 with Vonky playing upfront? If I remember rightly the rematch was Franny Lees first game as chairman and probably the best trick I have seen at Maine Road performed by Rocky Rocastle.

With due sympathy to anyone that was en route to the game, I'm delighted it's off. Means 3 days more much needed R&R for our players, gives us the chance to field a slightly stronger team against that bastard Mourinho, plus the players should be fresher for Barca. Trebles all round!

Stretford bender...
You're a cock
You're a cock
You're a cock...
You are the biggest tosser, and a red tosser, to ever be on the city forum and you're pretty good at avoiding questions too....
Have you gone tonight?
If not, why not?
You talk the talk, do you walk the walk?
I got a spare 90 mins to bullshit with you, so when you're ready flower I'm all ears. ....

Fooking gutted. Sitting in legends with 60 international visitors. Wtf are we supposed to do? Play subbuteo?

i know we're not in the cellar now but can only suggest that you finish your meal, chat to the legends until your guests get bored then find a lap dancing bar.

I drove back from the Lakes earlier and the car was literally bouncing around the motorway, extremely scary,
It would help if you didn't get insist on one of these as a company car.

lol.

To be fair mate, I've got a new company car that is quite a heavy motor and I was quite surprised how it was getting blown about. Passing little hairdryer cars wasn't much fun.

Yes that's right, that Rocastle trick set up a goal for that ex-shrewbury player (Griffiths or something?)

It would probably have been better for Sunderland fans to travel back after ten when it was meant to calm down a bit.

I avoided a guaranteed soaking at least. It was more dangerous for the Fulham 17.15 game when it snowed.

Jamie Jackson at The Guardian......

A tweet from GMP said: "GAME OFF - Manchester City's V Sunderland has been called off because conditions are deemed 'unsafe'".

The high wind was the main concern, with the strength of gales making walking difficult.

The police had earlier warned that people should not travel into the city if they could avoid doing so. In two tweets, GMP said: "SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - Do not come into the City Centre unless it's absolutely essential due to strong winds. Batten down the hatches Manchester. RED weather warning issued."

Before the intervention of the police, the match referee, Lee Probert, had met with the game's safety officer to discuss the conditions.

Correct decision, and much better for City.

Didn't fancy us in these conditions, suited Sunderland more.

Got a nice little game in hand on the others to put some pressure on.
