Seems to be a lot of tories on this forum, which is strange, considering Manchester is all labour. Didn`t realise so many on here were from outside our wonderful city.

not everyone in manchester voted for labour though ....... my parents both from longsight decided not to vote at all

Because the Mods are already pissed off a couple a whole lot more than others and one appears to be
taking the whole result as a personal loss

Not true, if you can't see why we get pissed off a the the childish behaviour of a small minority there is no helping you

It wasn't me being all moody and threatening people looked to me like you were loosing it a bit
SWP had a point earlier IMHO
didn't see the point is posting earlier to get told I would say that wouldn't I
If the results had gone the other way the LWNJ would have had a field day

We try to make this a place everyone feels comfortable posting, you and a few others have tried your hardest to make it uncomfortable you have driven decent posters away, from here which I am not happy about

I am not left wing by any stretch of the imagination

Doesn't seem to work like that anymore, people aren't voting Labour just because their dads did.
No a fair proportion have switched to UKIP the Tories are still doing as Daddy does though.

It really doesn't. I should have predicted this result. My dad never votes, but he's a painter like me so he'll work till the day he dies, like his father before him. I asked him who he'd vote for if he could be arsed. He said Tory :/

That old saying about becoming more right wing the older you get I guess rings true.

I resent that remark and not one a mod should make in an open post
you have been unable to remove your personal opinions from reality and this post just proves what some of us have been saying about the way you have moderated in this forum
How have I driven anyone away when all I have ever done is debated and argued my corner
If I had over stepped the mark I am sure you would have delighted in banning an openly right winger

Looks like the Tories are already looking to make 12b cuts in the welfare system with disabled vulnerable to Cameron and co's cut cut cuts at all costs austerity approach tossers. Fuck the poor feed the rich.

Seriously, people have been driven away? Who are these 'decent posters'? I'd suggest they're mard arses. I don't keep track of individuals, but the only person i've noticed missing is Rascal, but i'd hope he's more of an adult than to hide away after the election.

Well not the result I hoped for or expected but there you go.

I was rather hoping for another coalition with Lib Dems acting as a restraining influence on Labour or Tories but it was not to be.

Election results may not always seem fair but they always tell a story. Congratulations to the Tories and SNP, commiserations to all the others.

It would be churlish not to acknowledge the scale of the victory for the Tories nor the size of the defeat for Labour and Lib Dems – it will take some time for them both to recover and there is the possibility that neither party will actually achieve a full recovery.

I think I will have a break from here. There is only so much reference to scroungers, immigrants, the workshy, benefit cheats and general vilification of those not at the top of the heap that I can reasonably take and still maintain my equilibrium.

It’s good to have a divergence of opinion and have assumptions and beliefs challenged. If this forum was solely right wing or solely left wing it would be pointless. As someone who is pretty centrist in his outlook I get a real glimpse into a whole spectrum of others experiences and values. However, there is this growing nastiness and contempt for sections of society which may not be wholly exclusive to the Right on this forum but appears to be their growing preserve.

Being a Tory should not mean having a hatred of others but it feels increasingly like it does mean that for many..
