I have just driven past a young lad maybe about 18 and he is stood at the side of the street with a dominos pizza advert stepped to him. Probably on minimum wage but I admire him as he is prepared to earn money and work.

I would make long term unemployed piss takers stand on street corners witha sign saying thank you for my benefits as I drive across the mancunian way each and every day.

Rascal what do you think?

Yes, for those happy to peddle ignorance and prejudice.

I take it you're happy for your taxes to fund these peoples' lifestyles instead of going towards the NHS or schools then?

In a period of such financial pressure, I believe that every possible efficiency should be found and that a lot of those could come from welfare. That absolutely isn't to say that those who are deserving of welfare payouts, such as the disabled, should have them taken off them.
How large an impact do you actually believe "baby farming" has on the nations economy?

Short term, not a great deal. Long term, and the increase in kids who believe it's acceptable to be a layabout and live on state money, it's a bit more of an issue.

It's more the injustice than anything that some people can enjoy a tax free lifestyle that many in work would struggle to afford. Exactly the same kind of injustice that people see in wealthy individuals hiding income offshore so they needn't pay tax.

It's actually rather amazing that you've conflated "having unemployed parents" to "being a workshy layabout your entire life" and nobody has called you on it.

So you don't think there would be any correlation to having parents on benefits to this leading to children having the same mentality in life? Seems an entirely reasonable and almost certainly correct assumption to me.

I have no problem with the temporarily unemployed claiming benefits - it's what they're there for.

My issue is with the permanently unemployed who are able to work deciding that they will be better off on benefits than working. That shouldn't be an option. The problem thickens with those people having children to increase the amount of benefits they receive. That also shouldn't be an option for prospective parents to have.

Give him a break, at least he didn't suggest he should be lashed to the oars of a slave ship, so there's some hope.

That's for those who have been unemployed more than 5 years. Sicko!

Disappointed with the personal attacks on Beaker today , don't see the need for it , especially over Defence , Call me Dave should just keep to the positivity of how well the Country is doing.

Sky has a new poll with labour ahead and for the first time ever Ed has a better approval rate than dave
Keep the negative stuff coming dave lol

Hello Punters,
Just thought you might be interested in the results of three new polls published today because they won't be widely publicised in the media ( all showing Labour leads).
TNS, Survation, Panelbase: 3,4 and 6 point Labour leads respectively.
Cue panic in the Tory ranks.
PS Kaz and fumble beating me to spreading the good news around!

So you're happy to punish children, I admire your honesty, if little else.

Ironically is the same people who would punish the children and therefore risk a negative birth rate who are against immigration.

YCNMIU

how is a negative birth rate any worse than a 1000's of children who grow up with the expectation to spend all their lives on benefits?

they are going to be a drain on the nation and contribute nothing I risk I would be prepared to take

In your meritocracy they all have an equal chance to be you.

And you have really bought this whole life/generations on benefits rubbish. Barring anecdote please show the facts behind this.

Full Facts (im searching for a link) did an FOI request to the DWP and there was not a single case of a three generation jobless family in the UK.

And do you actually grasp the effect a negative birth rate would have on the country?

Rascal what do you think?

If the unemployed were to stand on street corners thanking people for there welfare payments they would be in breach of DWP rules and sanctioned, which would lead to them losing there welfare.

So i think thats pretty stupid.
