The gloryhunters are starting to arrive...

Nah,
In 67 we were just up as Champions,my first 3 home matches were 1-4 defeats and we finished from memory 15th in the table. It was the following season we exploded.
I fell in love with the Club in 67 and never left her, tell people now a days I am a " Glory Hunter" just took us a little longer than I first thought all those years ago.

This does wind me up if I'm honest.

I'm an "out of towner" but been supporting City since 77 - and yeah you can argue that I jumped on the bandwagon after our last pot and just missing out on the league title!!

I've had difficulties before at games with Blues who question my accent - I appreciate its the anti-utd aspect though, with the MAJORITY of them coming from anywhere bar Manchester!!

I'll not justify the obvious lows, lowers and the few highs we have had over the years as you all know them already!!

But as a guy who isn't that wealthy and does have to pick and choose the few games I can attend over the season, my Citycard loyalty points will soon get overtaken by a wealthier bandwagon jumper.

In fact it was summed up perfectly to me by my nephews girlfriend....... my nephew is a Norwich City fan, but he has always had an "interest" in City, due to the fact his uncle Carl supports them and has told him the stories and taught him the songs!!

Anyway, he text me the other night to inform me that his new girlfriend has been trying to get them tickets for spuds away on the opening day AND....... she has become a Citycard holder too!!

The thing of it is........ she used to "like" Chelsea and he is first and foremost a Norwich fan!!

My reply to his texts were to stick with your first team..... or failing that, his Yellow and Green scarf would be more that welcome at old trafford.

Fucking good luck to the glory hunters i say. I Spent 40 years watching this fucking trash and fior what fuckingh Dickov belting an injury time goal against Gillingham or fighing with fucking Chelsea fans in an half empty stand at wembley in a leyland daf trophy. Let em be you stupid cnut.

We need the gloryhunters or whatever we call them, and lots of them.

There ain´t a chance on earth that the current fanbase could feed the kind of megaclub we are trying to become.
Think Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool or even the rags..We will leave the old behind us and embrace the future, hopefully outgrowing the fear of the world beyond and go out and create our future as masters of our destiny, not crying like a kid afraid to leave his mummy.

Nostalgia is a nice thing, thinking back on poor childhoods even better when you sip a drink at the poolside so our history will be written by ourselves, by the fans..because we embody the club, we are its permanent anchor in time.
And as the club changes..so will the fans.

Bring them in.

I don't care where a City fan comes from, if they are blue, that's OK with me.

I was a glory hunter in 1966.....am I still plastic?

I'm looking forward to sitting next to someone who has travelled over from Japan, or wherever, to see us play, and we have a good natter about things blue.

City are going to be global, get used to it, but let's remember one little fact. We aint won anything since we had pound notes, banks shut at 3.30 in the afternoon, and you got paid in cash!

I just hope they see a good game, and go home with wonderful memories of their time here.

The important thing is that when success finally comes, it will mean so much more to us than it will to newcomers.. we will achieve a far greater buzz from it.

As long as they buy the shirt or some other form of merchandise who gives a rats tale??

It will only serve to make our financial situation with Plattini's brain child a little easier to attain.
