The gloryhunters are starting to arrive...

I think all gloryhunters who join in the journey should all be stamped across their foreheads with the words 'newly joined' ... maybe Mr Cook could do it in his spare time between transfers ...... then during each close season they could all easily be rounded up and counted ...... if they exceed the number that the club needs to fill the ground the excess could all then be easily executed on Asda car park !

I only supported City because they were shite. I'm currently on the look out for a new shit team to support as I enjoy the kudos of supporting a rubbish team, it shows how loyal I am and proves I'm the total opposite of a rag.
All tongue in cheek of course, but I do sort of revel in the endless enigma of being a city fan, the ups and downs and like most blues i`m sure, a sneaking internal glow when fans of `certain` opposition teams give us the proverbial pat on the head when they say `oh your a city fan, never mind` I love it.

I can relate to that, you do get a bit of respect from other fans are you're perceived to be the 'real deal' for supporting such a hopeless team. However, I'd be more than happy to exchange that for a trophy or a top 4 finish.

Boring being everybodies favourite little shit team with big neighbours, it's our time to shine baby.

We haven't won owt so how can they be ariving, I have been a glory hunter for thirty fucking three years and still haven't found it. Nearly did in 1981 went twice to London but came home with nothing (mind you meat pies I had were good). Any city fan in my book is welcome wherever he is from, for those who have been around longer and had all those wonderful experiences of travelling to second division league grounds in fucking winter and losing will have something new fans will never have which is the memories of how it used to be and I have no doubt they will milk them for all it is worth on this board as well as many others.

In thirty years time (when I am long dead and buried) and City are dominating the world in football with a trophy cabinet the size of a house maybe then new fans might be classed as glory hunters. And before anyone starts to give me grief the above comments represent my own personal opinion.

In Spain Man City has a lots of fans in the last 2 years, all gloryhunters, they don't know the name of the stadium and nothing about the club's history.

Hopefully we will now get some more with the signing of Silva and that may go through the roof if we get Torres and for me they are all welcome, don't give jack shit whether they know anything about our history or not thing is if they do ever come to England to watch City play at least we are in Manchester.

That's alright , there are those that claim we haven't got one!

To be perfectly blunt anyone who has been around city for more than a few years will have developed the skin of a Rhino, and do`nt give a fig about how we are perceived, its not the less than palatable football we have had to endure that has kept us coming back for more, its the fans themselves that are the real deal that kept us smacking our arses back on the seats season after season, good old black humour, the best the gallows could throw at us, we shrug it off with a throw away comment...."typical city"
What harm are a few glory hunters going to do ?

Nothing wrong with the club attracting new fans, and nothing wrong with those fans being attracted because we will have some world class players on show.

It's a bit tragic when people feel the need to say that they are a superior breed of City fan.

If you want to support City, just go to the game. Last I heard tickets were still available. ;-)

It would only be a problem is if the club increased ticket prices so that existing fans couldn't afford to go.
