I'm supremely annoyed at my game. I'd ended up uniting Ireland as Queen and matrilineally married the third in line to the English Throne. Harold Godwinson lived on and fucking on his eldest son died in battle and I murdered the second, leaving my dynasty heirs to Ireland and England. Or they would have had Queen Maire the just not died at 41 leaving my bastard husband to marry some Catalan woman and when Harold finally died I'm nowhere near the succession. I have a strong claim but there's no way I can push it, particularly as I've now gained the trait 'lunatic' and keep appointing my horse as chancellor.
 
Drove me mad, it was alright until I had a wife who had high intrigue and decided that she was a Nun and wouldn't have sex to bear any more children. Couldn't divorce her and couldn't assassinate her.

I was ages into the game aswell. I focus far too much on land grabs and far too little on political manoeuvring recently. I was playing in Spain after starting at Galicia and the Kings of Leon and Castille basically used me as their woman until I made everybody happy by starting a Holy War for control of Portugal. Then I became King of Portugal which realistically meant that I had to change my nationality to Portuguese which meant Navarra and Catalonia fucked me off.

A couple of Kings down the line and somehow I lost Galicia after dying in a final battle for Seville and it reverted almost immediately to a now all powerful Castille which also took a couple of Duchys into their territory. Then it was my kid as King of Portugal against the Muslim invasion from Algeria and a united Spain who allied with France which lasted all of about two minutes.

I went from owning 35% of Hispania to nothing in about 20 minutes.

There's numerous GoT strategy game mods that are decent. I have played the Civ5 one and it's very good though I'm not a huge RTS fan in recent years, so don't know how they are on that front.

In fact I can't even think of the last decent RTS that was that moddable and popular enough to support a TC mod.

There is one, called "A Game of Thrones: Genesis" but it's fucking horrible. DO. NOT. BUY. IT.

You'll have more fun if you get mugged! Really want to get my teeth into the CK2 mod, but I need to set some time aside to try and understand that bloody game haha!
 
Playing a bit more Crusader Kings 2 today as I need to finished my Ireland run. Bumped up to Hard mode for this one.

Had one of those streaks that you get. Started well and conquered the island of Ireland starting with Thomond and moved into Galloway and Clydesdale thinking I'd hit Scotland next. All went a bit dodgy when the Scottish King married their kid off to Brittany and they ganged up to stop my advances that way. I was having a bit of trouble with the vassals in Ireland so changed to Gavelkind succession for some reason. A couple of daughter only generations down the line and I had lost the Kingdom of Ireland, Kingdom of Jerusalem (which I won during the First Crusade when the Pope gave it to me for exemplary effort), all of mu Duchys and was left playing with a 6 year old daughter as a count in Ormond. Took a few generations to get back and took Glamorgan through marriage, which allowed me to press the claims of some people I invited to my court and become the King of Wales too.

Currently King of Ireland and Wales but was injured heavily in the Crusade in Lithuania so am hoping to pass onto my son as soon as so he can have a run at Scotland. Not even bothering fucking with England, I keep trying to marry into them so they'll leave me alone while I try to grab Scotland. Have to pick your time to get into them, hopefully right after they've repelled a serious invasion.

I still play Hearts of Iron 2 (paradox WW2 - quite possibly the best game of all time, in my opinion of course)
