The Greatest player of your time

Messi will be up there eventually, but Zidane. I thought Hagi was very special, too.

If we were talking all the time then i'd have to pick Best.

I'm 20. For me, it's Zidane without question.
I think Messi is the only player playing today who will come in his category by the end of his career.

Special mentions too for Ronaldo (simply awesome, shame injuries ruined him), Rivaldo (his hat-trick against Valencia says it all), and Bergkamp (most people might not agree he was up on that level but I just thought he was uniquely special.)

The REAL Ronaldo was the best for me. All time top World Cup scorer says it all

I would say Maradonna, won a world cup on his own, and propelled Napoli to the title in Italy as well... Although Zidane comes close. I agree also with the Bergkamp shout, think of all the quality goals he has scored (vs Argies in the world cup, vs Newcastle, vs Leicester just off the top of my head)

Maradonna blew when he stuck God in.

Cryuff was driven, athletic, intelligent, proper footballer..could tackle, run at pace, shoot and cross, always remember Keegan talking about him playing in Pat Rice's testimonial..keegan had recently been european footballer of the year and was a seasoned international....he said he was shocked (refering to Cryuff) to discover someone could run with the ball and look around at his options fast than he could run to simply get a tackle in on him.

Charlton...belonged to that King Colin Northumberland understatment movement, whilst Georgie's shimmy in the ECF fooled the goalie well enough and is well eulogised whenever the match is mentioned ....what is not mentioned is the two technical goals that Charlton scored wth such aplomb..both times hes not even looking at the goal and left the goalie little option but to stand open mouthed...class act.

Best...did you ever see anybody sneak up behind him and nick the ball...he knew exactly where every player was without looking.

Ronaldinho is one of my all time favs. If he hadn't had his personal or injury problems or whatever the hell happened to him after the 06/07 season, then I think he could have become one of the greatest if not the greatest similar to the fat Ronaldo really.

Its just a shame they way he fell from grace when there was so much more to come from him.

Zidane all day..

then Ronaldo.. just for his goals..
