The Greengrocer's Apostrophe

Pub near me does 'pitza' and 'burgas'. I can't tell if they are deliberate mistakes.

Unfortunately, as a PA/Secretary, I have spent all of my working life ensuring that the spelling of reports/presentations etc is correct.
Comma after "reports", not a "/" then another after "presentations" and a full-stop after "etc."

I'd say comma after "/" in yours, PB.

Amusingly, you can actually sense everyone checking their spelling and grammar in this thread.

There is a hotel in town (Liverpool)
called "The Hard Days Night Hotel"
Which is bad enough, within the hotel
there is a restaurant called "Blakes"
named after Peter Blake not Peter Blakes
it drives me mental.

Shouldn't Selfridges be "Selfridge's"?

Harrods be Harrod's?

There's always a grey area.

I cannot abide incorrect grammar, spelling and punctuation. I know it shouldn't, but it drives me up the fucking wall.

Just making sure you're not bull-shitting and really know your punctuation, DD. You passed the test.

Thanks pal.

What do you think of Harrods and Selfridges then?

There was only one Mr Harrod who started the store.

Britain's best known shop...this is an outrage.

Be honest; how many times did you re-read and amend that post before pressing submit?

I thought the same.

What about you, m27? That semi-colon looks a bit too contrived to me.

Surely it should be M27, anyway?
