The Harry and Meghan fuss

Yep. No personal hatred for any individual in this. Give them a big lump sum and a few of the less historically important residences and let them sink into background as merely very wealthy private individuals. The palaces and crown estates can be used for good of the public and immediate communities e.g. duchy of Cornwall becomes a cooperative and dwelling houses rented out become social housing. The prominent palaces become visitor attractions and pay for themselves. Household cavalry etc are reformed into republican unit but retain ceremonial duties and use former uniform style for re-enactments for special occasions and visiting tourists.
The Crown Estates are the property of the crown, what you are suggesting is that inheritance should be scrapped. So everyone on here, or anywhere in the country, who owns property and has money, must leave every penny of it, and all the property to the state.
You may get an inkling of why your politics gets rejected time and again, if any party was daft enough to go along with crap like this.
Plus, the country is overwhelmingly in favour of the monarchy, we don't want the Queen substituted with Tony Blair or Dianne Abbott as a president.

Depends on who it is I suppose. If it was someone down the food chain, I reckon they would've been named. However, if it turns out that it's someone higher up such as, cough cough, Harry's dad then the ramifications of that could be earth-shattering for Charles, Harry, Meghan, the rest of the royal family, and the monarchy as a whole.

It was very much a mud slinging excercise against the firm as they both now say when they get the chance.

I note a back track in which Oprah says we won’t say who it is but we will say it’s not the Queen or Prince Phillip.

It’s a game being played out. Prize is maximum publicity and the revenue that comes with it in La La Land.

The worshipping and obsession with so-called celebrities is rotting society. They are playing us all and the media love it.
No, the trashing of anyone or anything that challenges a large section of the medias world view is what is rotting society. Celebrities are not destroying society.

Always been my favourite royal has Anne, just gets on with it, has no
airs and graces, and I could never imagine she'd do anything like these
two.
The Wessexes, Edward and Sophie quietly get on with their private and official lives. They are no fun or use for the tabloids.

Who knows what has gone on exactly here? They could be bullshitting or they could be telling the truth. Are we saying that if it's the latter then they should've kept schtum because some members of the Royal Family are beyond criticism? If something like that has been said and they're not happy about it then they have every right to call it out, regardless of who said it.

I notice up to now that there has been no comment on the matter from Buckingham Palace. You'd think that if it was bollocks then a denial will be issued at some point

One thing this most certainly isn't is a planned long-term exercise by the couple. I think they're damaged emotionally. They have tried to handle the situation by fleeing and one year on have realised this only resolves the physical side of the problems and that they still haven't truly escaped, so have proceeded to the next stage which is to explain their reasons. This stage allows them a bit more ability to process their feelings but it comes with a major side-effect, and that is if they let out too far they will, later, regret some of it. They've now got the most difficult part to face and that is accepting the details of the events leading up to it all. Changing the attitude of those they have accused is one thing, but it doesn't alter what actually occurred and they will need to face each hurdle independantly. Eventually they will need to reconcile the facts and hopefully the relationships with those they feel aggrieved by. They're miles from that yet.

I don't think this was a healthy exercise for them because it's going to make the later stages much harder, but it's done now. I wish them well.
