The Harry and Meghan fuss

Maybe it is convenient, maybe it is BS, what is to be gained from saying it though.

I think Harry & Meghan owe it to us, the British public, to name who was responsible for this comment.

I don't want that type of person in a powerful role in our country, particularly when it could be a future Monarch or their Consort.

When they were all frollicking with the "rescued" Chickens you got the impression they escaped some evil dungeon to live a simple peaceful life.

But realistically there's going to be a lot of activism, media appearances and I reckon a political career for Meghan.

Aye, it's also been noticed that that, all those doing the praising are vehement anti monarchists suddenly outraged about criticism of two royals who voluntarily jacked it all in.
Would it also be fair to say then that all those condemning Harry and Meghan are vehement Royalists suddenly outraged that somebody in the Royal Family has been called out as a racist in an incident that led them to walk away from the Royal Family

Pretty certain we've had racist monarchs before now, jeez they're not even that keen on Catholics.

It's difficult to put into words for fear of sounding racist but a private family discussion between two people about the possible skin tone of a child due to be born to a couple where one is mixed race is all about context. Meghan wasn't even party to the discussion so heard it second hand from her husband. Without context I will reserve judgment.

No it couldn't, and no it won't.
It's just another daft bit of lefty nonsense that can't happen.

There is no conceivable circumstance in which the monarchy may cease to exist in the UK? Future generations will always have a similar majority of monarchist sentiment?

If they were ever pushed to leave, it would be in an environment of anti royal sentiment. It would be impossible for them to retain the estates without increasing anger and hostility and increasing security costs.

My hopes for the future crown estate may well be wrong, but the family will not be allowed to walk off with ownership of it after dissolution. It would more likely to be broken up and privatised.

I agree with that mostly.

My one concern is the way the British public appear to believe they have some sort of ownership of Harry and Meghan and is that fair.

The other thing to consider is could the revelation actually bring down the Monarchy and I do not believe Harry and Meghan want that to happen because of their stated respect for the Queen.
