Human touch isn't really their MO. It's sad, really. The modern age of social media and the excess news cycle has a lot to answer for, it's provided a febrile environment for bullying and invective. All forms of bullying are abhorrent, but against women is especially so, in my opinion. The reality is, a grown man, a bitter insecure old man in this instance, has professed freely in a national newspaper that he hates an innocent woman on a cellular level, a woman whom has never so much as whispered in his direction, and said he hates this woman more than a convicted serial killer. That's our press. Not Russia. Not North Korea. Ours. It should anger anyone with an ounce of compassion, regardless of their socio/political idealogies.

Clarksons platform, and the encouragement he received to write this article, stem from a consistent, relentless agenda from his media colleagues against Meghan Markle.

Maybe Clarkson was bullied at his public school, and now seeks his revenge........on a woman.

Where did I suggest that you clown? Harry and Meghan have been involved in a flame war with parts of the media for a long time. This has involved litigation against The Mail which they won and yet the attacks continue on a daily basis. But everyone knows that. Except you seemingly.

There’s been a sharp media reaction to the article, thousands of complaints made to the regulator, the article has been taken down and Clarkson will very likely lose the column for what he said.

Why does the King need to get involved when a response like this has already developed? Why would he effectively associate himself with someone else’s comments, or offer them a form of legitimacy by being forced to respond every time someone writes an article like this?

The King doesn’t need to respond and he’d be wise not to. He’s trying to reduce the media’s attention on the issue, not inflame it, although unfortunately this approach isn’t being followed on all sides.

i have nothing against Harry and Meghan, just dont know what they are trying to achieve? the only things they get by going back on tv repeatedly is lots of grief and lots of money. Is the money worth the grief? if someone knows what else they are trying to achieve, i would be interested

What harm would a statement from the Palace saying …

‘We would appreciate the spiteful and cruel abuse on Meghan by Media outlets to stop as we don’t condone this nor any racist misogynistic views and would highly appreciate the Media leave Harry and Meghan to get on with their lives’
