Yeah . it would appear that Daltons father was English , and at some point in the late 1940's the family lived in Derbyshire ...... it was probably from those days that he began taking notice of the club.

As far as the producers were concerned Dalton was still the main man in 1994 , it was only during that year that he said , for certain , that he wouldn't be doing it anymore ....... the producers had been in negotiations with him during 1993 to renew his contract , but he then surprised everyone in April 1994 by quitting !
